‘Teen Wolf’ Reveals Season 3 Character Portrait of Isaac Lahey

This portrait comes on the heels of previous portraits of Scott, Allison, Derek, Lydia, Stiles, and the Alpha Pack Twins, Ethan and Aiden. Fans were wondering when we’d get a look at some of the other characters, Isaac in particular, so it’s nice to finally be able to to add this one to all the others!

Unlike the other portraits, the background in this one seems to be particularly blurry. Derek, Scott, and Stiles, for instance, look as if they are in Derek’s apartment due to the bricks and the hole in the wall behind them. Lydia and Allison appear to be in the same room, which is lined with windows. Isaac’s background doesn’t give us any sort of hints as to where he could possibly be.

Daniel Sharman, who plays Isaac, was bumped up to series regular for the third season. At the end of season 2, Isaac decided not to leave Beacon Hills with Boyd and Erica. Instead, he decided to follow Scott’s example and stick around, going head to head with Gerard and the Kanima. He was injured on the field, but in the end he survived the events of the finale.

Season 3 will be setting up a stronger relationship between Isaac and Scott, who obviously have their shared supernatural abilities to bond over. This will, apparently, cause some tension between Scott and Stiles. Stiles is, after all, the human one of the trio, and can’t quite relate to Scott on the same level that Isaac can.

What do you think of Isaac’s portrait? Are you excited to see him take on a bigger role this season?

Daniel Sharman to Join Hallmark’s ‘When Calls the Heart’ Series

Teen Wolf actor Daniel Sharman and Arrow actor Stephen Amell join a new Hallmark project called When Calls the Heart, based off of Janette Oke’s novel of the same name.

According to a Hallmark press release, via The Futon CriticWhen Calls the Heart will debut first as a two hour film, acting as a pilot for the television show that will follow. The film will premiere on October 5, and the show will begin with 10 episodes in January 2014.

The movie has an all star cast that, aside from Sharman and Amell, also includes Maggie Grace (Taken 2), Jean Smart (Designing Women), Lori Loughlin (90210), and Poppy Drayton. Smart is a three-time Emmy award winner. The film is written and directed by Michael Landon Jr.

This is the second original Hallmark series based off of Oke’s work, the first being Love Comes Softly, which was met with a great deal of success and is one of the reasons why Hallmark was looking into doing another series based off of one of Oke’s novels.

The synopsis of the film and followup series is as follows:

When Calls the Heart is the story of Elizabeth Thatcher (Drayton), a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom post in a prairie town in the Western Frontier lead by headstrong coalminer widows Abigail (Loughlin) and Frances (Smart). She is determined to prove to her family that she is brave enough to live on her own, but struggles with her own fears and doubts. When she discovers her late Aunt Elizabeth’s (Grace) secret diary, Elizabeth learns she was a pioneer woman herself, a teacher in the frontier who struggled with prairie life and fell in love with a Royal Canadian Mountie (Amell). Inspired by her aunt’s hopeful words and unfaltering determination, Elizabeth decides to embark on her own adventure, using the diary as her guide and family friend Edward, another Mountie (Sharman), as her support.

It’s exciting to see both Sharman and Amell working on a project together, and especially one so different from their current projects. Sharman plays a werewolf on Teen Wolf and has been promoted to series regular for season 3, which will kick off on June 3. Amell plays the lead in Arrow, which will return with its next episode, “Salvation,” on March 27.

Cassandra Clare and Daniel Sharman Talk ‘Clockwork Princess’ Audiobook

Clockwork Princess, the much-anticipated final installment of Cassandra Clare’s Infernal Devices series, hit shelves yesterday. (You can read EW’s review here.) But if you’d rather listen to Princess, then your ears are in luck: The audiobook version—narrated by Daniel Sharman (Immortals, Teen Wolf)—is available too.

Sharman joins the ranks of Jennifer Ehle and Ed Westwick and Heather Lind, who narrated the audiobook versions of Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince, respectively. Even Clare herself approves of Sharman’s take on the novel. “It’s wonderful listening to Daniel read the audiobook—he brings each character to life with different accents and intonations,” Clare says. “The book’s setting is so firmly London, I wanted a British reader, but he’s really impressed me with his Yorkshire and Welsh accents too!”

In this exclusive video, Clare asks Sharman some burning questions about his narration and Clockwork Princess. Spoiler alert! His voice is pretty wonderful.

There is no way to embed the video, sadly, but you can watch it at the source: ew.com!

Daniel Sharman Will Read ‘Clockwork Princess’ To You

If you’ve got any long flights or cross-country spring break road trips in your future, we’ve got a thoroughly enjoyable way for you to fill those long, quiet hours…and if you don’t, you might want to plan one, the better to enjoy the delicious Daniel Sharman as he reads one of your favorite books aloud. The “Teen Wolf” star has been officially tapped to record the audiobook of Cassandra Clare’s “Clockwork Princess”…and we are officially planning to fall asleep on the night of its release to the dulcet lullaby of fantastical steampunk fiction being read by a man with the world’s chiseled-est cheekbones. Sweet dreams, indeed!

Daniel’s selection as audiobook narrator got the thumbs-up from none other than Cassandra herself, as she was the one who thought he’d be perfect for the job.

“During the casting process for the ‘Mortal Instruments’ movie, the casting director and I talked about probably every young actor in Hollywood. Daniel Sharman had just come off doing ‘Immortals,’ and I remember we talked about him as a an actor who had huge talent and promise. When we were looking for someone who could read the ‘Clockwork Princess’ audiobook, I thought of him because he seemed like someone who could capture the parts of the narrative that require vulnerability as well as the ones that require a great grasp of action.”

Yes! What she said! Plus, y’know, the cheekbones. Always the cheekbones.

“Clockwork Princess” is the final installment of Cassandra’s “Infernal Devices” series, which follows Victorian teen Tessa and her Shadowhunter allies Will and Jem. The audiobook will be available March 19.

Teen Wolf Spoiler from Zap2it

Teen Wolf: In the first episode of Season 3, we’ll meet Deucalion, the leader of the new pack of Alpha werewolves. He’s eloquent, intelligent, and he has a plan to turn Scott and Derek against each other. Meanwhile, Isaac — who is expected to feature prominently this season — will have a very rough time in the first episode. He’s going to be badly injured, and even the hospital isn’t safe. He does have someone looking out for him, though. Hmm.

Daniel Shares How He Bulked Up For ‘Immortals’

Check out Daniel Sharman in this feature from VMAN‘s The Decades issue.

Here’s what the 25-year-old Immortals actor had to share with the mag, which named him one of the Breakout Stars of Winter:

On transitioning from stage acting to the big screen: “I found acting on film very difficult. I found it really kinda odd and unnatural. Then I became obsessed with trying to get it right. I am hugely competitive.”

On his Immortals audition: “I had just finished a stage show in London playing a herion addict. I’d lost a lot of weight and when I arrived in L.A. for a few meetings my managers were like ‘What the f—’s happened to you?’ [Director] Tarsem Singh said, ‘You are probably too skinny for it but I love what you did with it, come back and do it again.’ For a week I ate protein bars, stuffed my face, went to the gym all seven days and I even took weights with me to the next audition and pumped up right before I went in. They showed me the tape and it’s a remarkable change. It’s amazing what 700 protein bars can do in a week, I’ll tell you that.”
